Intelligent weather sensors for measuring air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation intensity, precipitation type, precipitation amount, air pressure, wind direction and wind speed.
Additional description:
Relative humidity is measured using a capacitive sensor element, and air temperature is measured using a precise NTC measuring element. Precipitation is measured using a 24 GHz Doppler radar. The droplet velocity of each individual droplet (rain/snow) is measured. The amount and intensity of precipitation are determined based on the correlation between droplet size and velocity. The type of precipitation (rain/snow) is determined by the different falling speeds. A major advantage over conventional tipping bucket or tipping bucket methods is the maintenance-free measurement. Wind measurement is performed using ultrasonic sensors. The measured data output supports the following protocols: UMB-Binary, UMB-ASCII, SDI-12, and MODBUS. An external temperature sensor can be connected.
