We supply high-quality fiber pens for recording devices from Lufft, Müller, Fuess, Adolf Thies, Barigo, Franz Ketterer, Feingerätebau Fischer, Lambrecht Meteo, Wilhelm Lambrecht, Wegner, RB Messtechnik and Dr. Friedrichs.
The fiber nibs offered here are compatible with manufacturers of specific drum pens. The chemical properties of the inks are tailored to the respective papers of the writing instrument manufacturers to ensure high-quality data recording. We therefore recommend not using copies of writing or recording strips with fiber nibs.
The lead is encased in a sleeve, usually colored to match the fill color, which is equipped with a cap to prevent drying out. At the end, a differently shaped writing, drawing, or painting tip transports the ink from the core to the surface to be written on or painted. This tip was previously usually made of felt. Today, plastic tips with defined capillaries are commonly used. Felt-tip pens are generally refillable.
Solvent-based felt-tip pens are particularly susceptible to the problem of drying out during transport to the consumer. Felt-tip pens with uninfused tips were initially developed as a solution. Before such pens were first used, the consumer had to pierce an internal membrane by applying strong pressure to the sturdy tip, allowing the ink to soak into the tip.
The German chemist Adolf von Baeyer developed the indigo synthesis and synthesized fluorescein in 1871. Adolf von Baeyer developed fluorescent pens for his children, which were later used in offices to highlight text passages.
In 1952, American Sidney Rosenthal invented the felt-tip pen, which he called the "Magic Marker." The first fiber-tip pen is considered to be the "SignPen" model from Pentel (Japan) in 1962, invented by Japanese Yukio Horie.
