Rain gauges record the water level in a measuring container over time by transferring the water level to a paper strip via a float and a recorder. After the measuring device is filled, the contents are siphoned off, the display resets to 0, and the filling process begins again.
The Hellmann rain gauge is used to continuously record the amount and duration of precipitation. The device operates with a measuring system consisting of a measuring vessel with a float and a siphoning device. The drain is self-draining after 10 mm of precipitation. The device is not heated.
The main features of the Hellmann rain gauge are:
- Collection area 200 cm²
- high measurement accuracy
- unheated
- Nominal circulation period 1 day
- easy operation
