Snow density meter

To accurately measure snow quantities and snow depths, snow gauges and snow probes are used. These can provide precise measurements based on the difference between ground level and snow depth. Thanks to newer technology, snow depth sensors, this is also possible using ultrasound. Because the speed of sound depends on the temperature, this type of measurement can guarantee a maximum accuracy of ±2 cm.
