The north-aligned measuring device (1450) constantly displays wind speed and direction. The wind vane rests on wear-free pivot bearings, making it very responsive. A directional cross, a Wild wind speed indicator, and a wind vane are mounted on the standpipe. These elements allow a reliable view of "where the wind is blowing" at any time.
