Atmographs are continuously recording measuring instruments that use moist surfaces to determine the evaporation values (volume of water evaporated). Examples include the Piche atometer with filter paper, or the Czeratzki disk: A ceramic disk (200 cm² area) at the end of a system filled with distilled water serves as the evaporation surface; precipitation does not interfere. A steel housing houses the water reservoir.
