Mela® humidity/temperature sensors must be installed at a location in the room, system, or device that is representative of the climate measurement. Avoid proximity to radiators, windows, or exterior walls. The specified minimum air velocities and the load at the I output (diagram) adapted to the operating voltage must be observed. Deviations from these values can lead to additional measurement errors due to self-heating. The sensor can be installed in any position. However, it should be mounted in such a way that water ingress is prevented. Condensation and splashing water do not damage the sensor, but will lead to incorrect measurements until the filter is completely dry. To maintain interference immunity according to EN 61326-2-3 during use, we recommend using a shielded cable to connect the sensors and installing it professionally in the supplied cable socket of the sensor. The protective filters should only be carefully unscrewed for functional testing using the humidity standard. Care must be taken not to touch the highly sensitive sensor element. If necessary, dirty filters can be washed out while unscrewed. When screwing the sensor back on, please note that it will not measure correctly until it is completely dry. Sensors can be completely cleaned with distilled water. We recommend using a wall bracket or mounting plate as mounting aids. The Mela® humidity standard is suitable for simple function testing. For further information that must be observed when using humidity sensors with capacitive sensor elements, please refer to the "Application Notes for Sensor Elements".
