Mela® humidity sensors must be installed at a location in the room, system, or device that is representative of the climate measurement. Avoid proximity to radiators, windows, or exterior walls. The specified minimum air velocities and the load at the I output, which is adjusted to the operating voltage, should be observed. Deviations from these values can lead to additional measurement errors due to self-heating. The sensor can be installed in any position. However, it should be mounted in such a way that water ingress is avoided. Condensation and splashing water do not damage the sensor, but they will lead to incorrect measurements until the filter is completely dry. To maintain interference immunity according to EN 61326-2-3 during use, we recommend using a shielded cable to connect the sensors and installing it properly in the supplied cable socket of the sensor. The protective filters should only be carefully unscrewed for functional testing using the humidity standard. Care must be taken not to touch the highly sensitive sensor element. If necessary, dirty filters can be rinsed while unscrewed. When reattaching the sensor, please note that it will not measure correctly until it is completely dry. Certain sensors can be completely cleaned with distilled water. We recommend the wall bracket or mounting plate as installation aids. The Mela® humidity standard is suitable for simple functional testing.
