The falling precipitation flows directly into the device's collection container. The weight of the precipitation in the container is recorded by an electronic load cell. The evaluation unit immediately provides a temperature-compensated and linearized signal, which is available as precipitation height and intensity. The system empties itself every 11 seconds at a rainfall intensity of 50 mm/min.
