The PC-055 radiosonde parachute is used for the safe recovery of radiosondes after the measurement mission and to avert dangers caused by falling parts.
Larger radiosonde parachutes serve as parachutes for dropsondes. The goal is to achieve the lowest possible descent rate.
The parachute is made of a plastic that decomposes under UV radiation.
Commissioning:
1.
|
Attach the parachute to the rope connected to the balloon using the top loop. |
2.
|
Attach the line to the radiosonde to the lower loop.
|
3. |
Before launching the balloon, please check that all 6 lines between the parachute and the spreader ring are parallel. |
4.
|
Please ensure that the distance between balloon and radiosonde is sufficient (recommended values balloon - parachute > 3 m, balloon - measuring system > 30 m) to avoid the measurement being influenced by the air turbulence of the balloon.
