The Heavy Duty Wind Monitor HD-Alpine combines the features of the HD unit with the ice-resistant coating of our popular Alpine Wind Monitor. Robust, reliable, and durable are the characteristics that describe the newest addition to the Young family of wind monitors, designed for the most extreme environments. The HD-Alpine Wind Monitor uses extremely wear-resistant, oversized ceramic bearings to significantly increase service life. The ceramic bearings are not only more wear-resistant but also corrosion-resistant in environments hostile to steel bearings.
The Wind Monitor HD-Alpine also features an oversized propeller shaft, a high-pitch propeller, and a lockable propeller nut—all features that further increase the sensor's long-term reliability.
All external housing surfaces are coated with a special ice-resistant coating to improve performance in harsh alpine conditions. The all-black color scheme further enhances the sensor's ice-repellency.
The device is mounted on a standard 1-inch pipe.
