The Wind Monitor-HD (Heavy Duty) model was designed to solve the most common problem with mechanical wind sensors: bearing replacement. The HD uses extremely wear-resistant, oversized ceramic bearings to maintain a service life several times longer than standard stainless steel bearings. Ceramic is not only more wear-resistant but also corrosion-resistant in environments hostile to steel bearings. The Wind Monitor-HD also features an oversized propeller shaft, a high-pitch propeller, and a stainless steel propeller nut, all features that increase the long-term reliability of the sensor.
