The tipping bucket - A technology with many functions and advantages
1. The heart of the product

This is our patented, unique, self-emptying single-spoon tipping scale. The tipping bucket is one of the most accurate measuring devices on the market for rain sensors. Using this technology offers a number of advantages:
    Highly accurate measurements: +/- 2%
Flexible with many resolution options. Standard resolutions are 0.1, 0.2, 0.25, or 0.5 mm.
Only one adjustment screw, which allows for easy recalibration.
Easy replacement during rain gauge maintenance.
The shovel is made of POM, a repellent material to which dust and dirt do not easily adhere and which maximizes water release.
2. How does the tipping bucket technique work?
The precipitation is measured using a funnel that directs the water into the individual, self-emptying POM tipping bucket. A hard ferrite magnet holds the bucket in position.
The magnet exerts just enough tension to empty the measuring spoon in a rapid movement (less than 300 ms) and then return to its normal position, ready to collect precipitation again. This means that, unlike other conventional two-spoon rain gauges, the counterweight always remains constant.
