Collection: ABOUT

The PAR Quantum Sensor counts quanta in the wavelength range from 400 to 700 nm. This wavelength range of light corresponds to that required by plants for photosynthesis. The number of quanta is related to the production of sugar. Radiation below 400 nm and above 700 nm is not normally required for photosynthesis. Thanks to the sensor's internal filtering, any type of light can be accurately measured: sunlight, artificial light, fluorescent light, or xenon light. The measurement of PAR (Photosynthetically Active Radiation) in µmol/m²/sec is now the standard used worldwide in scientific publications, replacing the obsolete unit µEinstein (one millionth of Avogadro's constant).
