Collection: Fog collector

The precipitation is collected and weighed with a fine-mesh sieve. The sieve is suspended from a balance beam, whose deflection is transmitted multiple times to the recording arm. The balance beam is mounted on blades and carries a damping vane, which moves in an oil-filled damping chamber. This prevents wind influence on the recording. Due to the use of a special oil, the damping is practically temperature-independent.
