The Model 09101 Wind Monitor-SE combines the performance and durability of our standard wind monitor with a unique optical encoder direction finder and serial output.
The wind speed sensor is a four-bladed helical propeller. Propeller rotation induces a variable frequency signal in a stationary coil. The raw signal is converted into a digital serial output by the built-in microprocessor circuit. The wind direction sensor is a rugged, molded wind vane. The absolute encoder maintains directional orientation even when the power supply is interrupted. The serial or voltage output signal is easily selected by moving an internal jumper. The housing components are made of UV-stabilized thermoplastic. Fittings are made of stainless steel and anodized aluminum. The device mounts on a standard 1-inch pipe.
The model 09106 Wind Monitor-SE-MA is a modified version of the 09101 device, which was developed for the harsh conditions at sea
