The DB278 D is designed for pressure measurements in meteorological stations, industry, and laboratories. (For use in aviation, see the DB-X series model.) In addition to displaying the local pressure, the QNH value can be displayed using the front panel switch.
The display features a bright 0.56" LED with a red-light readable LED. The display intensity can be adjusted from darkroom applications to sunlight, making it ideal for viewing in bright light applications. The barometric pressure sensor used is designed for measurements requiring excellent accuracy, fast dynamic response, and long-term stability and reliability. The barometer can be operated at temperatures from -20°C to +50°C. To utilize the excellent high accuracy, the ambient temperature should be between +10°C and + 30°C. The DB278 D model uses an extremely accurate and stable transducer with a long-term stability of less than 0.1 hPa per year. The DB278 D is compared and corrected at 16 measuring points against the standard EB-3 mercury barometer. This is confirmed by a working certificate. Using this procedure, the accuracy is +/- 0.15 hPa over the entire measuring range. To use the DB278 D for process control, there are options such as RS 232 and RS 485 interfaces and analog outputs 0 ... 10 V and 0/4 ... 20 mA.
