Purpose of use
The 16-bit data logger is designed as a cost-effective device for the automatic acquisition and storage of meteorological and other environmental data. The Ser[log] has 12 analog inputs, 6 digital input channels, and 1 SDI channel. The data can be read out via an RS232 or USB interface. The data is displayed on the LCD or via the integrated web server, which can be accessed via the Ethernet interface. The Ser[log] can be expanded to a maximum of 36 analog and 11 digital inputs. The multi-channel data logger supports GPRS, Bluetooth, FTP, SMS, and email.
A special version with 6 digital input channels is also available.
Data acquisition
The data logger allows the connection of up to 12 sensors with analog outputs, an additional 12 SDI sensors, and five digital RS485 inputs. The data logger's resolution is 16 bits.
- Measuring interval: 1...60 sec.
- Average time/ extreme interval: 6...60 minutes,
- Internal memory: 7 MB ring buffer battery-backed RAM.
Power supply
- Standard 12V battery operation (with battery change, battery life: >14 days),
- · Solar power operation with built-in solar charge controller and battery deep discharge protection,
- Mains operation with battery emergency power supply.
Housing
Robust IP65-protected stainless steel or plastic housing prepared for DIN rail mounting. The sensor connecting cables are routed through cable glands into the housing and connected to the data logger.
Operation
Operation and configuration is carried out via an RS232 interface and optionally via a display.
Measured value preprocessing
The measured values are calculated and preprocessed in the data logger using standard functions and preset parameters.
Instantaneous value display
The instantaneous values can be displayed at the measurement site using a laptop or display. All data can also be retrieved via the Ser[log]'s existing Ethernet connection.
Data processing
Data processing performs the following functions:
- · Reading data via the serial interface,
- · Storage, backup and management of data in the ring buffer or parallel on the SD card.
