The radiation balance meter is a device for direct and immediate determination of the radiation balance of an area in the wavelength range of 0.3 to> 30? M. The radiation balance is the difference between the incident on the unit area of the earth's surface and the votes of this area in the upper half space radiation energy.
Measuring principle:
Measurement of the temperature difference between the upward and downward oriented receiver blackened surfaces by means of thermocouples. The upper receiver surface shortwave radiation and the long-wave radiation of the atmosphere in accordance with its temperature are measured. With the lower receiver surface reflected short-wave radiation and long-wave radiation of the surface temperature of the substrate are measured.
For direct determination of the radiation budget, the two receiver surfaces are electrically connected.
The positive sign designates radiation flows directed to the surface, that is, that the reference surface radiation energy wins. If the sign of the radiation balance is negative, the reference surface radiation energy is extracted.
description
The radiation-sensitive part of the device is the built in the center part thermopile consisting of thermocouples and is covered by blackened 2 "receiver surfaces". These in turn by 2 of "Lupolen" crafted cupolas (a plastic that has the necessary optical properties) outwardly shielded. 2 cover rings and gaskets close the probe from tight. 2 vials enable the setting in horizontal position for use.
A detachable container for receiving the dry solids (silica gel) is the side of the sensor mounted so that this creates no shield against the upper or lower half-space. A 400 mm long holding tube enables easy handling.
