Automatic snow balance for measuring snow water equivalent

The snow scale is a precision instrument for detecting the snow water equivalent. It is designed for quick and easy installation and implementation in the field and impresses with its robustness and low maintenance.

The SSG used to measure the SWE durable aluminum plates, which enable accurate measurement. An outer frame consisting of these plates reduces the ice lenses effect which is observed especially at the end of the winter season. The use of light and perforated aluminum plates minimizes the thermal resistance and supports the optimum heat flow characteristics between soil and sensor. The integration and connection to existing weather stations and other systems is kept deliberately simple.
