Atmographen are gauges with continuous registration, using the wet-held areas whose values evaporation (evaporated water volume) are determined. Examples are Piche Evaporators with filter paper, or Czeratzki disk: A ceramic disk (surface area 200 cm²) to finish off a filled with distilled water system serves as an evaporation surface, precipitation does not interfere. A steel case houses the water reservoir.
